(a) We compiled two types of third-party ratings and reviews: The ratings are not based on the personal opinions, tests, or experiences of U.S. We created objective 360 Overall Ratings based on an analysis of third-party reviews.Our scoring methodology is based on a composite analysis of the ratings and reviews published by credible third-party professional and consumer review sources. We then highlighted the base plan offered by each company.Ģ. We reviewed fees, direct-deposit, tax form creation and filing, and tech features such as mobile applications, technical support, and other plan-specific features. With the companies determined, we compared available plans and packages offered by each payroll software across several criteria to help consumers make more tailored and informed decisions. Finally, we established our top picks and reviewed the different plans and product features available by each company at the time of publication. Once we identified these companies, we narrowed our list, filtering out certain companies based on preliminary qualifications and criteria such as product availability. We found 15 companies that consumers search for the most and that are the most reviewed by credible third -parties. News analyzed and compared a variety of publicly available data, including internet search data, to determine which payroll software Americans are most interested in.
